The meeting was opened at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Lil Jones. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Roll was taken and it was determined that a quorum was present. The Treasurer's Report was provided by Arlene Dreste, Treasurer.
OLD BUSINESS: Lil Jones provided an update on the SLID proposal.
NEW BUSINESS: Councilor John Peck discussed the business plan Ajo Vision 2000 and asked for input about creating an updated ten year version. Nick Francis stated that a good portion of the Ajo Vision 2000 was accomplished. The plan is available at the Library. John Peck will establish a plan to create a new "vision" for Ajo for the future.

Carol Yokum announced that she could be contacted at 387-1101 for Cinco de Mayo booth reservations.
Mike McCoy discussed Ajo's 11% population decrease in the last decade according to census results. He said this hurts chances at getting grants and attracting new businesses and suggested the Council investigate and if appropriate request the census bureau do a recount. Jones said the Council will do so and a letter was sent to Rep. Grijalva.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
