  1. Dr. Louis Albert, President, Pima County Community College, West Campus, was introduced by Ernest Green. Albert noted area citizens are again turning to their community college as in past economic down turns. PCCC is the state leader in training for the health care industry. Special classes are being planned for local school staff to conveniently take credential renewal subjects. College outreach continues with student visitations and GED assistance. Due to the interest in on line study, his next visit will concentrate on that information. All subjects taught at PCCC can be found online at www.pima.edu.

  3. Lt. Bill Clements commander Ajo District, was introduced by Lil Jones. It was noted that six new officers will be reporting for duty in November. Be aware there most likely will be a marked increase in minor traffic violations as since they just out of the Academy. On their arrival the school resource officer will again they be assigned to the school. It was asked why finger print reports take so long (a year since the break in). Due to the heavy backlog, decrease in staff, and priority of murder, DUI, and rape cases it will continue to take a great deal of time. It was asked if a deputy pulls a person over shouldn’t there be a reason for it. (The person was riding a bike on the side \walk.) It is illegal to ride a bike on the sidewalk. The Code 9 program for home security checks is run by local Sheriffs Auxiliary Volunteers.
  4. Morgana Wallace, a GED teacher at ISDA, was introduced by Deb Morrow. Wallace gave information regarding the Borders project, first seen as a local effort as part of the Wall exhibit. It is hoped to be a traveling exhibit.
  5. Deb Miller, Supervisor Bronson’s office, requested local partition interest in a hazardous waste cleanup. It was suggested signs be installed at the dump noting the proper waste areas as an on going program.
